Hot Chip announces a bath full of ecstasy LP and shares "Hungry Child" | New music

Hot Chip has announced its seventh complete studio, An ecstasy bath. June 21, via Domino, the record follows that of 2015 Why make sense?.

The new album marks the first time that the London electronics group collaborates with outside producers, in order to tap into more adventurous compositions while advancing their synthesizer sounds. To this end, they teamed up with French producer Philippe Zdar (Phoenix, Cbadius) and Rodaidh McDonald (Scotland's The XX, David Byrne) for recording sessions in Paris and London.

For the first time, the band shared the single "Hungry Child". A percussive song with melancholy lyrics, the title is accompanied by a musical video wonderfully designed and directed by Saman Kesh. The video is played by Martin Starr and Milana Vayntrub as an arguing couple who suddenly begin to hear "Hungry Child" playing out of nowhere. He seems to follow them wherever they go, as they try desperately to find a way to close him. Although they hate to admit it, the answer may be accurate in the lyrics of the song.

Check out the visuals below.

Pre-orders for An ecstasy bath is happening now. In addition to standard vinyl, CD and digital formats, fans can get a luxury double LP, printed on clear orange and turquoise vinyl, housed in a black and white pocket. While you're there, you can hang other versions of Hot Chip on vinyl here.
