A brawl on a parcel of land provoked bloody clashes between two factions at Dagomba Line, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region.

It was after the alleged owner of the land, who had obtained a court order, attempted to evict hundreds of squatters to pave the way for a school.

Awuku Malik, of Nhyira FM, who witnessed the incident, said the angry squatters threw stones, sabers and other dead weapons at the owner and his thugs.

The exchange, he said during Adom FM's morning broadcast of the Dwaso Nsem program, led seven people, including a seriously injured woman.

"I saw the woman with blood flowing from her legs and from other parts of the body. She looked restless, "he said in Twi.

He added that without the swift intervention of the police who would have fired shots to disperse the angry factions, the problem would have been deadly.

The tension on the Dagomba line is exacerbated as squatters prepare an attack in retaliation for the destruction of their homes.

Some of the squatters who led the chaos were apprehended by the police.

The wounded were transported to Manhyia Hospital and then transferred to Komfo Anokye University Hospital for treatment.
