How a detox can help

Your liver will do its best to do its job, even if it has too much to do.

Only when it is overloaded will it produce symptoms (see below).

A detox will prevent preventable toxins from entering, eliminate existing toxins and provide nutrients to stimulate the process.

Try to follow the plan for seven days, but you can continue for up to a month. Then you will probably have more energy and concentration.

Signs that your liver is unhappy

If you have one or more of these symptoms, your liver may need a day off:

Unexplained headaches

Rashes

Sensitivity to caffeine

Excess body odor

Food allergies or sensitivities

Bloating

Difficulty losing weight

The main offenders

In terms of detoxification, there are important things to cut:

● caffeine

● alcohol

● unnecessary drugs

● processed foods

● high sugar consumption

It's a good idea to reduce your consumption of these products over a few days.

If you drink 5 to 6 coffees a day to none, you are likely to have a headache. You may find that after detoxification, you naturally want fewer drinks containing caffeine.



Aim for 10-12 glbades of water a day

Your liver likes …

Detoxification is not necessarily an expensive process, there are many inexpensive ways to improve your liver.

Drinking lots of water is at the top of the list.

If you wait until you are thirsty before having a drink, you may already be dehydrated by 30%.

Drinking more water costs almost nothing and yet it is probably the most beneficial thing you can do for your body.

Aim for 10-12 glbades of water or herbal tea a day.



Your body does most of its detoxification while you sleep

Watch your ZZZZZZ

Your body does the essentials of its cleansing at night when you sleep.

Examine your normal sleep routine and see if there is any way to improve it.

Try taking an Epsom salt bath, which stimulates the detoxification process and relaxes your muscles.



Cut out alcohol

Ditch the Booze

The best thing to do for your liver is to reduce your alcohol intake so that you drink less than 14 units a week. Here are some reasons:

• By drinking too much, your liver produces a toxin that can cause permanent scarring, as well as damage to the brain and the lining of the stomach.

• Alcohol acts as a diuretic, which means the liver has less water to do its job. A thicker blood means that your liver has to work harder to filter out toxins, which can accumulate and interfere with the functioning of the organs.

• Long-term alcohol consumption can cause serious problems such as cirrhosis (liver scarring), fatty liver and even liver cancer. Excessive occasional alcohol consumption is clbadified as having more than four drinks at a time, so be sure to split your units during the week.

What to eat

Vegetables

● green leafy vegetables

● Beets

● Crunchy green fruits like pears and apples

● berries

● fermented vegetables such as sauerkraut

Protein

● lean red meat

● Poultry

● eggs

● legumes

● Nuts and seeds

● soy products

● Crustaceans

● Nuts, especially Brazil and nuts

What else?

Try adding them to your meals or drinks to speed up the process:

● Garlic

● cider vinegar

● local raw honey

● turmeric

When sweet foods are not so sweet

The liver plays a key role in the balance of our glucose levels (sugar in the blood).

If your diet contains too much fructose (the sugar that is found in fruits), the excess is converted to fat that remains in the liver, which causes fatty liver.

Rather than cutting fruits that contain essential nutrients, avoid foods that use fructose as a sugar substitute, such as processed foods and soft drinks.

Snack attack

When you nibble, your liver never really has the opportunity to balance blood sugar. So try to eat enough food at each meal to satisfy you to your neighbor.
