Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to recover from his back injury to take his place in the Liverpool team and face Tottenham in Sunday's Premier League showdown.

Jurgen Klopp's men will face the Spurs at Anfield on Sunday, looking for three points to make sure they finish first.

But they know that they simply can not afford to skids in their duel with Manchester City.

A big weekend for Klopp's men

"It's exciting, absolutely," said the Reds boss this week. "That's what we're always talking about: a season is like that and you're constantly preparing a base for the last few weeks.

"We have created a wonderful base, let's use it now."

Alexander-Arnold, who missed international matches against the Czech Republic and Montenegro, is expected to remain in the lineup, having started the 2-1 victory over Fulham before the break.

Dejan Lovren is fit to return after being a non-commissioned officer at Craven Cottage, but Klopp is expected to stay alongside Joel Matip alongside Virgil van Dijk, after the impressive recent performances of ex-Schalke.

The biggest question is who starts in midfield alongside Fabinho and Gini Wijnaldum.

Naby Keita is in shape, but James Milner and Jordan Henderson are fighting for a place on the bench.

Probable departure XI: Alisson; Alexander Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson; Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Milner; Salah, Firmino, Mane
