Nana Appiah Mensah is Managing Director of Menzgold Ghana
It turned out that Menzgold, a gold distribution firm, owed some 105 retired and active police officers, nearly 40 billion former soldiers.
Sampson Adai Mensah, a retired chief superintendent and spokesman for the troubled police, told Ekosi Sen of Asempa FM station on Friday.
According to him, Menzgold is supposed to pay them $ 3,906,000.00 GH after filing a writ with the High Court of Accra a few months ago in order to recover their locked-in investments after their efforts were unsuccessful .
His comments came after the gold company's general manager, Nana Appiah Mensah, aka NAM1, on Friday secured a 1 billion GHc bond from an Accra circuit court with five bonds.
NAM 1 was released on bail after his lawyer, Kwame Akuffo, filed a bail application.
The 62-year-old retired police officer, who claims to have continued building his building after putting his money in cash, said he only wanted to recover money. .
He added that it was therefore necessary that the state be quick in the criminal proceedings and ensure that their money is paid.
For him, it is important that a payment plan be established to ensure that their investments, which are blocked with Menzgold, are recovered.
"We accept the court's decision, but we only need our money. We now have 3,906,000,000 GH ¢ with Menzgold and it is therefore important that we have a payment plan very quickly to get our money, "he said.
