He may not be as famous as his older brother, but you have probably heard of Prince Andrew. After Charles, the Duke of York is one of the most famous children of Queen Elizabeth II. But since there is so much more information about the future king, people do not know much about Andrew.
Here are the answers to some basic questions that royal fans have about him, including his age, how many times he has been married, how many children he has and how much he is in conflict with the Prince of Wales.
Age of Prince Andrew
Elizabeth II and Prince Philip welcomed Prince Charles in 1948 and his sister, Princess Anne, two years later. Elizabeth became queen in 1952 and waited eight years to have more children.
Andrew was born on February 19, 1960. By this time, Elizabeth had become his monarch and was able to spend more time with him as a child than with his older siblings. Reports have been circulating over the years that Andrew has always been his mother's favorite.
"He attended the Marine Commando Course, just to show that he could, before becoming a helicopter pilot," said historian Royal Piers.
How many times has he been married?
The Duke was once married to his ex Sarah Ferguson.
The two men met in 1985 at an event held during Ascot Week. The following year, they banded together at a lavish ceremony at Westminster Abbey, watched by millions of people around the world.
They would have started marital problems very early because of Andrew's naval career. But the published photos of Fergie being sucked off by Texas businessman John Bryan when she was married to the prince in 1992 was a silver drop, embarrbading for the royal family. The two men separated and eventually divorced in 1996, a decade after saying "yes".
How many children does the prince have?
While they were married, the Duke and Duchess of York had two children together.
Their eldest daughter, Princess Beatrice of York, was born on August 8, 1988. The princess suffers from dyslexia, but she has improved a lot with age. Today, she is Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy for Afiniti, a US-based technology company.
On March 23, 1990, they welcomed their second daughter, Princess Eugenie of York. The princess made the headlines in 2018 after announcing her engagement and marrying Jack Brooksbank. Eugenie also works full time as Associate Director of Hauser & Wirth, a contemporary art gallery located in Mayfair, London.
Charles and Andrew are still arguing?
A topic about Andrew that has been in the news several times in recent years during his quarrel with Charles.
It's no secret that the two men have not developed good relationships over the years because they never really see anything. Many reports even claim that once King King, he will exercise his power to drive Andrew away from the royal family.
The discussions on Charles "slimming the monarchy" would not only affect Andrew but also Beatrice and Eugenie. Instead of all members of the royal family, the Prince of Wales wants the taxpayers to fund him, as well as Camilla, as well as William, Harry, and their families.
We will have to wait to see how that happens in the future.
