The Prince of Wales told the Duchess of Susbad not to wear a tiara at her first official dinner abroad, fearing that this might seem "extravagant".
The Mail on Sunday may reveal that Prince Charles spoke about Meghan's plan to wear a lavish headdress at an event in Fiji last October.
The Duchess had hoped to borrow a jeweled tiara from the royal collection for this event, but her stepfather had informed her that such ostentation was avoided in some parts of the Commonwealth where she might seem reminiscent of 39, a bygone era. & # 39; & # 39 ;. extravagant

The lack of tiara attracted attention when Meghan, wearing a long blue robe of Safiyaa, arrived for dinner offered by Fiji's president, Jioji Konrote, notably because the Duchess of Cambridge wore a large diamond and pearl helmet Princess Diana at a State Banquet at Buckingham Palace the same evening.
Meghan however wore a pair of diamond earrings that would have been borrowed, perhaps from the Royal Collection, which is the largest private art collection in the world.

It is believed that Charles is playing a larger role in planning the official overseas trips of the Royal Family since the Queen abandoned her overseas trips in 2015.

Last night, an insider told The Mail on Sunday: "The Prince, having traveled to all these places many times over the years, is very well placed to provide advice in this area."

The heir to the throne also developed a close relationship with Meghan – he accompanied her into the alley when she married Prince Harry last May. These wedding preparations, however, were shaken by a dispute over another tiara. The former actress of Suits would have put her heart on an emerald-encrusted helmet, but her claim was denied when the origin of the coin could not be established.
When Harry heard that, he would have said, "What Meghan wants, Meghan gets it," which prompted the queen to intervene.
At that time, one source reportedly said, "There was a very lively exchange that brought the Queen to talk to Harry.
She said, "Meghan can not have what she wants. She gets what the tiara she gave me. "
In the end, Meghan wore Queen Mary's diamond and platinum band headband from the Queen's private collection at the wedding ceremony at St George's Chapel in Windsor.
