No, you are not hallucinating: How to escape murderBonnie and Frank really are smiling in the photo above, which may well become the major plot of this season.

The ABC drama took a very A brief break from the endless misery of her characters Thursday night, while Annalize hosted a holiday dinner for her colleagues (and her mom, Ophelia, again played by the inimitable Cicely Tyson). But since it is How to escape murder, where even the most festive occasions take a shocking turn, the Christmas party had its share of weak points, course.

Read on for details of "Where are your parents?":

CHALLENGE OF IMMUNITY | After five minutes of her mother's visit, Annalize receives a call from Agent Telesco, who asks Annalize to meet her at the FBI offices – and she is ready to offer Annalize total immunity, for "all that. " Annalize informs Nate of this offer. and insists that she would never sell it by accepting the deal, even though Nate says that he would understand if she made accept, since Miller's death has nothing to do with it.

Ophelia surprises Annalize and Nate's conversation and begs her daughter to do nothing to put Nate in danger. In fact, she even suggests (in several scenes!) That Annalize and Nate get married so that they do not have to testify against each other. Hmm …

HTGAWM Season 5Annalize finally decides to meet Telesco at the end of the holidays and she asks Telesco to draft the documents relating to immunity. But when Annalize arrives at the FBI offices for the meeting, she waited 20 minutes, the time that a different the agent finally arrives and cryptically reveals that the meeting will have to be reprogrammed. ("I'm not free to say," said the agent, when Annalize asks him where Telesco is.)

As we have learned, Telesco has been removed from the Miller / Sam Keating investigation until further notice. In the end, Tegan Price had met Telesco in his car the previous night, for questions related to the investigation. Somewhere along the way, their conversation turned into a novel and the two women revealed that they were single – which ultimately led to a focus session (!) In the car, followed even more by hubba hubba, happenings (!!) later in the night.

But Tegan was playing all the time at Telesco: the next day, while Annalize expects to meet Telesco, Tegan makes an appointment with Telesco's investigating colleague, revealing to the man that she has been sleeping together. The officer then confronts Telesco and the reprimand for several weeks of reprehensible conduct (for example, by filing evidence, offering an immunity agreement to Gabriel in the absence of his lawyer, etc.), which stops him finally indefinitely. Later, Tegan informs Annalize of all these details, simultaneously warning Annalize that she only has a short time before Telesco is inevitably replaced by another hard investigator.

At the end of the hour, Annalize is contacted unexpectedly by Governor Birkhead and she reluctantly meets the woman in a nearby church later in the night. Birkhead insists that she has nothing to do with the death of Nate Sr. or Miller's, but she claims to know who made have Nate Sr killed: Emmett Crawford. (Annalize is even presented with a folder on Emmett that seems to shock her, although we do not have the opportunity to see its content.)

SLAY BELLS RING | Meanwhile, Connor, Oliver et al. organize their own Christmas party (which, to everyone's dismay, includes Gabriel). Although the festivities start quite nicely, their Christmas dinner is interrupted by agent Telesco (pre-suspension) who presents a warrant for the wedding photos of Connor and Oliver. And images are not the only thing she wants: Telesco's mandate also allows her to slide no matter what Miller's instruction, including Oliver's laptop. swallow.

Oliver badures the gang that the FBI will not find anything on his computer, as investigators do not have the pbadwords to get through Oliver's firewall. But Connor's mother still worries about the FBI's appearance, and Connor is forced to tell him a comforting lie, saying Governor Birkhead is really the person the investigators are targeting. (By the way, Connor asked his mother to delete this incriminating Instagram photo from the wedding reception, so that should to be tied up, at least for the moment.)

Elsewhere in the hour …

HTGAWM Season 5* Laurel receives a call from a masked number and when she answers, all she hears is a shaky breath for a few seconds until the call is interrupted. She worries that maybe it was her mother (we still do not know where we are), or that her father orchestrated the call, but the episode ends before we can get more details.

Speaking of Laurel, she decides to put Christopher's blood-stained blanket back in his cradle, to prevent FBI agents from finding it hidden in a plastic bag under the crib. Later in the episode, Laurel dials the Telesco agent's number with suspicion and leaves him a voice message inviting Telesco to call her back.

* After attending Miller's funeral, Bonnie spends the episode more and more upset by any mention of her dead son-in-law. She later confesses to Frank that she has dizziness and nausea for several days, implying that she may be pregnant. But after pbading a home test at the end of the hour, she tells Frank that the results were negative. (It should be noted, however, that we do not see the test results ourselves.)

* Emmett and Annalize have a moment of tenderness at the end of his Christmas dinner in which he reveals that Annalize's feast has made him feel at home for the first time in a long time. They almost kiss, but Annalise ends the conversation before Emmett can settle – and considering her potential involvement in the murder of Nate Sr., that sounds wise.
