How to save up to 20% on flights by booking the right day

Vacationers can now save up to 20% on flights by booking at the right time, as indicated by The Sun on Sunday.

Which? Travel magazine badyzed two years of data from the Skyscanner comparison site to determine when it is cheaper to book flights for key periods.

Which? followed the prices of ten key trips between major cities using various price comparison tools.

Momondo, which beat rivals Kayak, Google Flights and Skyscanner, was the best way to find the cheapest combinations of flying days, airports and airlines.

On a Miami fare in London, it was cheaper by around £ 300.

Rory says that he starts all his research on Momondo but that he has not booked through the site because of his low satisfaction rate.

Instead, it uses its results to locate fares on airline sites or on more reliable travel agencies, such as Netflights and Expedia.

He also recommends sites such as Jack's Flight Club, Airfarewatchdog or Secret Flying, which use experts and software to identify price declines, promotions and erroneous prices that cost hundreds of pounds at the usual price.

In one case, flights to Hawaii on Secret Flying cost £ 400 cheaper than anywhere else.

You will need to be flexible about destinations and dates and be prepared to travel in the near future, as most offers will start in a month or two.

"Fare rates" – when airlines have miscalculated the price – are usually very economical, but the carrier can cancel and refund even after booking.
