HPD RAID: the justice group holds a public public meeting with an arrest warrant

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) –

Community members will gather to ask for answers in the weeks following a shootout involving a murderous agent, which killed two people and injured five.

Houston police chief, Art Acevedo, confirmed at a press conference Friday that the narcotics operation that led to the deadly shooting in a 7815 Harding home is now being examined by internal affairs of the department.

Specifically, the department reviews the claims of the senior file officer, who was injured in the shooting, that a confidential informant would have already bought a drug at home, which led to the approval of a search warrant.

The new documents obtained by ABC13 showed that no confidential informant had ever bought drugs at Harding Street's home.

Dennis Tuttle, 59, and Rhogena Nicholas, 58, were both killed by police officers on the raid.

In total, five officers were injured during the operation and four others were shot and wounded.

"I will reserve my comments until the end of the investigation," said Mayor Sylvester Turner, who spoke with Eyewitness News over the weekend. "We want to make sure that we conduct a full and complete investigation and do it as quickly as possible."

The Greater Houston Coalition for Justice is holding a town hall meeting Monday at 6 pm to discuss the shooting. at 9 pm at 333 Jensen Drive.

Mayor Turner, Chief Acevedo and the General Counsel were invited to the meeting, but it is unclear whether any of the public officials will attend the meeting.
