Huawei receives praise from South African President

Accra, July 8, GNA – South African President
Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa congratulated and badured the Chinese technology giant
Huawei relentless support of governments.

Mr. Ramaphosa said that Huawei would be a
a key partner in his government's strategy to create economic opportunities
in the digital age.

A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency
President Ramaphosa said at a summit on the digital economy held at
Johannesburg.

He quoted the president who said: "the United States
the action against Huawei was an example of protectionism that would affect the South
Telecommunication Sector in Africa.

"This stalemate between China and the United States
where the technology company Huawei is used as a victim because of its
success is an example of protectionism that will affect our own
telecommunications, including efforts to deploy the 5G network,
causing a setback on other networks too. "He said.

He said a number of telecommunications
companies had written to him to express their concerns about trade restrictions
which had been imposed on Huawei by the US government.

"The telecommunication companies have come together and I have written
a letter saying that this standoff between the United States and China around society
called Huawei will hurt us because we can not go in 5G and only Huawei can
lead us to the 5G, "he said.

"We support a company that will take
our country and even the world to better technology, and it is 5G. we
can not afford to slow down our economy because of this struggle.

"We are pleased that at the G20 Summit,
China and the United States were able to meet and they said that they were going to relax some of
constraints imposed on Huawei so that it can continue to deal with other
