BAYERN MUNICH's target, Callum Hudson-Odoi, submitted a transfer request to Chelsea as he was trying to force his transfer to the Allianz Arena this month.
The German giants have seen a number of candidacies rejected by the Blues, who have tried to convince the 18-year-old by offering him a new contract worth £ 80,000 a week.
SunSport learned that Hudson-Odoi had met with Chelsea officials on Saturday night, announcing that he wanted to leave the club before closing the winter transfer window.
Bayern would be about to make a new offer of 40 million pounds, hoping to persuade the Blues to sanction the deal.
The 18-year-old winger has been seen proposing an outstanding new deal, the club having tried to convince his star to stay at Stamford Bridge.
But Hudson-Odoi, who has played only 61 minutes in the Premier League this season, wants to follow in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho and look for a career in the Bundesliga.
RB Leipzig would have joined the Chelsea Starlet's signature race and would like to offer the Blues £ 20 million for the winger.
But the German side would be willing to include a buy – sell clause in the agreement, which could prove decisive in the negotiations.
Such an agreement would be more acceptable to Chelsea, who would otherwise risk seeing its value drop significantly if Hudson-Odoi lost his contract until the last year.
However, the winger still wants to try the Allianz Arena, Bayern plans to reshuffle its staff this summer, and think the blues prodigy can enter the formation immediately.
SunSport reported that Bayern was in "permanent contact" with Chelsea, trying to seal the deal before closing the winter transfer window.
And the Hudson-Odoi transfer request will surely inspire the Bundesliga champions to double their efforts.
