Hulu is apparently the first distributor to sign a sponsorship deal with World Record Egg, the Instagram account that has made the Internet famous for posting the most-liked post on service in a few days last month.
On Friday, the account @world_record_egg released the image of an egg decorated with football lace and cracks in the shell. "The wait is over," the message says. "Everything will be revealed this Sunday after the Super Bowl. Look at it first, only on @hulu.
Meanwhile, Hulu's Instagram account biography now reads "Get crackin '," followed by an egg emoji. Hulu's Twitter account is also part of the campaign, with a tweet who says "#EggGang."
On Friday, a representative from Hulu said that the company currently does not comment on or provide information on the contract with World Record Egg. The big story with World Record Egg could be related to Hulu's purchase of a 30-second ad in the CBS Super Bowl LIII program. The streaming service did not reveal any details about television advertising.
On Jan. 4, The World Record Egg posted its first post on Instagram, prompting users to exceed its preferences, the record holder of the time, Kylie Jenner, for her message on the announcement of the day. a baby released almost a year ago. On Jan. 13, the anonymous egg broke the Instagram record for "I love" and has so far nearly 52 million euros.
Given its viral impact on the Internet, World Record Egg's first sponsorship would reach at least $ 10 million, said Nik Sharma of the VaynerMedia digital advertising agency at The Atlantic – and what's more, he advises marketing "egg instead of the Super Bowl." Hulu seems to have done both.
The Account Holder World Record Egg has not shared his identity. The person behind her only told the media that she was a woman and was not affiliated with any company or organization.
Less than three hours after the publication of the Hulu-plugging football egg on the Instagram account, it had more than 1.5 million likes.
