WFSB – Hartford, CT – Hundreds of people climbed nearly 700 steps Saturday morning to raise public awareness about lung disease.
The 12th edition of Fight for Air Climb helps raise public awareness of lung disease.
Participants climbed 688 steps in 34 steps.
"You're just moving your legs, step by step," said Christina Steinhauser of West Hartford.
Every step in front of Hartford Building 21 is for a good cause.
The Fight for Air Climb helps raise money for the American Lung Association.
"The idea is that this is supposed to simulate for a person with a lung disease that has little oxygen," Steinhause said.
Lindsey Roy, of Agawam, Mbad., Began climbing four years ago – in honor of her late mother of lung cancer.
"It's really the spirit on the matter," said Roy. "I think all the time I think is the top that reaches the goal for my mom."
Roy said you keep pushing, no matter how much you burn.
