Ambrose Dery Bole Minister of the Interior, Ambrose Dery

Interior Minister Ambrose Dery badured Ghanaians, especially relatives of girls kidnapped in Takoradi, that police were making progress in helping the three girls.

He added that the police are numerous and in charge of the case, pointing out that they arrested another suspect, in addition to the first, Samuel Wills, currently on trial for kidnapping and prison break.

Although Mr. Dery did not provide details of the new trails for security reasons, he maintained that the police were on course.

However, he does not know when the police will be able to find and rescue the girls currently held hostage by the kidnappers.

Last week, police were under increasing pressure to find and rescue abducted girls between August and December of last year. A social media campaign is in full swing to push the authorities to act before it's too late.

Since last week, the CID of the police and some ministers have badured the family members of the kidnapped girls that the victims were alive and still held hostage in the country.

I am not a prophet

But when the Interior Minister was questioned Tuesday about the likely fate of the girls, he retorted that he was not a prophet, but said his team was determined to bring good results.

"[I’m] Minister of the Interior, I am not a prophet; I do not ask clairvoyance. What I can badure you is a commitment to really investigate the matter and get to the bottom of things, "he told reporters.

The minister expressed his optimism by stating that "Ghana's police have what it takes, professionalism is there".

He promised the public to do his best to help the families of the kidnapped girl and the entire Ghanaian public. He invited everyone to trust them.

"We have a committed police department, a minister of the interior under the guidance of a president who is clear and consistent, who is clear and consistent about what he does and does. Ghana should have confidence, "he said.
