Former President Jerry John Rawlings emphasized his urgent need to demolish a $ 5 million hotel owned by Alhaji Yusif Ibrahim if he could reverse the trend of the time.
He added, "If the weather were reversible, I will do it again and again and bring their new gargantuan structures into the waterways … The structures have been reported by its own respectable and law-abiding neighbors.
In 1999, the former president demolished a $ 5 million hotel owned by businessman and CEO of the Dara Salaam group of companies, Alhaji Yusif Ibrahim.
Recently, however, the CEO and former owner of the hotel, located around the Tetteh Quarshie interchange, said he had forgiven the former president for ordering the demolition of his multi-million dollar hotel.
But at the height of the 40th anniversary of the June 4 Revolution, on Tuesday, May 4, 2019, former President Alhaji Yusif was not in a position to forgive, even the bush rat in his hometown.

Governments do not seem to have any constraints when it comes to demolishing the structures of the poor in inland waterways and in unauthorized areas. However, grown-ups seem to be above the law and untouchable, "said former President Rawling.
