Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II
The Osantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, revealed that it was the reason Ghana had not "burned" since entering multi-party democracy 27 years ago.
He added that without his interventions, Ghana could have become one of the war-torn countries of Africa, with a deep-seated hatred among opposing individuals.
Otumfuo said that since the time of Jerry Rawlings, John Kufuor, John Mahama to today Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, he had been mediating in camera, sometimes on the eve of elections just for Ghana to get peace.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu said that despite all these people, he had been accused of belonging to one of the two main political parties, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He said that all that was of interest to him was to see Ghana grow and under what party or which government.
Asantehene spoke last Saturday at the Asante Professionals Club in Kumasi, where he launched a $ 100 million development fund to trigger the development program for the Ashanti region.
The fund is to help implement a 10-year development plan established by the club under Asantehene to complement the government's efforts.
