Ghanaians are now grappling with new taxes that have resulted in higher fuel prices amid expert forecasts that food prices will skyrocket in the coming days.

On social networks, angry young Ghanaians have in recent days denigrated the country’s difficulties.

A viral photo of Shell’s new fuel price is circling as Ghanaians denounce rising cost of living.

But ruling party member Gabby Otchere Darko believes these increases cannot be compared to what has been experienced under the NDC administration.

He said in a tweet that the former NDC government was raising fuel prices every four months and making life more difficult for Ghanaians compared to the ruling NPP government.

Gabby seems to be suggesting that the only thing the NDC could fix was the price of fuel.

“I don’t know about you, but I miss the ruling NDC. Those times when gasoline prices increased by a quarter each year. When the prices of electricity and water also tried their best to compete – in addition to tuition. They knew how to set the prices, ”he said.

He reiterated what has become a ‘hymn’ to most nuclear power plant communicators that the impact of the coronavirus pandemic has caused hardship across the world and Ghana is no exception.

“Things are difficult, here, there, all over the world. But, they will get better. Keep the faith. Don’t tempt fate!”
