Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency chairman for Fomena, Akwasi Nti Asamoah apologizes for spearheading a program to retain their party’s current Ashanti regional chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, alias President Wontumi.

According to him, even if he has already pleaded with God for forgiveness, he believes that he must plead in particular with the deputies of the region and all the members of the party that he has offended.

“I pray for God’s forgiveness and I also beg all the deputies in the Ashanti region to forgive me. I haven’t thought about most of my actions so I’m sorry, ”he said in a seemingly sorry voice.

The former president has been embroiled in several controversies in the region, including the agenda to topple Fomena MP, lawyer Andrew Amoako Asiamah, who then ran and won as an independent candidate in the election. General 2020.

This led to what the MP saw as a crass tactic deployed by Mr. Nti, then constituency president, to make him lose his candidacy to represent the party in the constituency in the 2020 election on the NPP list.

He therefore contested the seat by becoming independent and was sacked for his decision.

He became the common thread of the NPP which needed him to increase their number to 138 to become the majority party in Parliament.

This forced many people to call for Mr. Akwasi Nti to resign from his post as president or be sacked as it was rumored that this was a condition the MP demanded before he could move the mat at the nuclear power plant.

Mr. Nti has been silent since then and has just resurfaced begging almost everyone for a second chance.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Angel FM’s Kwame Tanko, the controversial politician admitted that he had championed a certain agenda that he said had contributed greatly to the party.

“One of those decisions is how I designed a program to keep Wontumi as regional president in 2018,” he said.

The former Fomena constituency president is now seeking votes to become the second regional vice president.

He claims he wanted to challenge the presidential race, but one of the people he most respects in the region, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, has declared his intention to take the post, hence his resolution to be content with the post of second vice-president.
