Audrey Maame Esi Swatson is currently the youngest pilot in Ghana.
At 21, Audrey Maame Esi Swatson realized her dream of becoming a commercial pilot.
Although she obtained her commercial license in 2018, the young woman had her first experience as a pilot badistant when she was only 18 years old.
As exciting as it may sound, Audrey Maame Esi Swatson's first encounter was not very pleasant.
In an interview with Frankie 5 on This Is Gospel, she recounted her moment of joy at the thought of moving a plane, but this joy quickly turned into an embarrbadment during her flight of initiation. .
"I was really scared and I could not imagine myself adding force for the plane to take off from the ground." It was fine at first, but later in the flight for my first day, I felt bad airborne. I was sweating. I really wanted to throw up, "she said.
Audrey was able to overcome the discomfort of making her maiden flight successful with the motivation of her mother, who was also on board.
"But after our return, he did not come out. I felt better. My mom asked if [I would continue]. I was like yeah, "she said.
Despite the discomfort she felt during her first flight, the young pilot believes that the turbulence during flights are nothing.
In addition to her desire to become a pilot, Audrey had wished to become an athlete.
Audrey's father had at first tried to persuade her to pursue her dreams as a pilot, but then had to support her because she was resolute to her aspirations.
The young driver began her training at the Mach1 Aviation Academy in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2015.
After completing her first solo flight in April 2016, she obtained her private pilot license before obtaining a commercial license in 2018.
Audrey attended Ghana's Christian International High School in Dodowa after completing her basic studies at the University of Ghana's Basic School in Legon.
