I told you!!! This is what the secretary general of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, told Professor Mike Ocquaye.
This follows the election of Alban Bagbin of the NDC as President of the 8th Legislature. He beat NPP candidate Professor Mike Ocquaye by 2 votes to secure the post.
Reacting to this at a press conference on Friday, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, popularly known as General Mosquito, said if the former president had heeded his warning, he would not have experienced such a defeat.
“I actually warned him that he was too old to be president and told him that now was the time for him to devote the rest of his life to telling Ananse stories to his grandchildren.
Speaking about what happened before Bagbin’s statement to the presidency, Asiedu Nketiah added:
“In fact, at times the NPP demanded that before Bagbin could be declared the winner, we would have to accept a joint statement stating that Professor Mike Oquaye had withdrawn from the competition and that there was none at all. election.
Can you imagine this? Everyone in the world saw the election unfold, saw the ballots being stolen and you want us to come and embarrass ourselves or rather share your embarrassment with a joint declaration that the elections did not take place, that Mike Ocquaye was never defeated, that he withdrew to allow Bagbin to leave ”.
