The Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson
The Ghanaian actress Yvonne said that, contrary to the fact that the vigil Dumsor she had organized during the NDC had been successful, she had received death threats.
She was called by many as "Yaa Asantewaa" when she personally organized a protest against the ruling party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2015.
For her, the decision was not a political camouflage, but a decision to be made by her on behalf of all those who were pbading through Dumsor.
According to Yvonne, her life has been threatened many times and it took her courage to move forward with the protest that shook the country. She also revealed that she had to hide before and after the vigil to be safe.
I was sleeping at a friend's house because the threat was too strong, "she told Hitz FM Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty.
Answering the question of why she did not come up for another Dumsor when she reappeared under the NPP regime, she said the dumsor was not as intense as that of the NDC era.
"I did the same thing starting with Twitter, but the reason I did not go further in organizing the Dumsor vigil was that the NPP Dumsor was not as hot than that of the NDC, "she said.
