Lydia Seyram Alhbadan, parliamentary candidate for the constituency of Ayawaso West Wuogon, refuted claims that the authorities had initiated development projects in the region a few days before the by-election, in the only goal to score political points.
According to his late MP, Emmanuel Kyerematen Agyarko has undertaken several development projects before his untimely death, it is unfair for anyone to make such claims.
"Why do people say that we are undertaking development projects only because the time for by-elections is in progress … what we are doing is for community development," she noted.
Lydia Alhbadan, who was speaking at the last NPP rally before Thursday's by-election, pledged to continue the projects her late husband had launched if she were elected.
She said she would focus on safety, sanitation, scholarship schemes, empowering women and children, and youth entrepreneurship.
She said, "We all know that Ayawaso West is called the elite riding. I will work with the MCE and all members of the badembly must defend this name. "
NPP leaders, including President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia, were present to approve Lydia Alhbadan's candidacy.
