Ashanti regional president of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Bosiako Ashanti regional president of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Bosiako

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti regional chairman Bernard Antwi Bosiako has said he is ready to sponsor the campaign of former President John Mahama to win his party’s flag bearer in 2024.

According to him, the former president is a weak candidate because he will facilitate the “rupture of agenda 8” of NPP 2024.

Speaking on Okay FM’s “Ade Akye Abia”, he explained that the former president was desperately in power and was therefore doing everything possible to win the 2024 election.

“The former president is no match for us; I would like to sponsor his campaign for his candidacy for re-election as his party flag bearer.

“The New Patriotic Party has a blueprint for ‘smashing agenda 8’ of the party, and the only person who will help execute the agenda is former president John Dramani Mahama.

“I know the former president is not broke, but I will certainly sponsor his campaign for his re-election as the party’s standard bearer, and I know that when he wins it will be very easy for the NPP to win the 2024 elections, it does not matter who the party presents as a candidate in the 2024 elections, “he said.

Although the former president has not announced his return to compete and lead the Democratic National Congress, he is embarking on a thank-you tour and meeting party supporters across the country.

Former President John Mahama stormed the Ashanti region on Sunday, September 12, as part of his nationwide thank-you tour.

The two-day tour of the Region will mark the end of the second phase of its tour, which aims to express its gratitude to its supporters and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the votes in the elections on December 7, 2020.

The first phase of the tour began in August with a resumption on Tuesday, September 7 in the Bono Est region.
