Forson Andam 6 GBA President Tony Forson and Ghanaian lawyer based in Canada, Kuukuwa Andam

Kuukuwa Andam, a Ghanaian lawyer based in Canada, who accused Anthony Forson, president of the Ghana Bar Association, of rape, said that she would ask for justice to ensure that it does not violate no other women.

According to her, Mr. Forson's inability to apologize but to deny the allegations through the intermediary of his lawyer is disappointing and sad.

In an interview with GHONE TV, Kuukuwa Andam said she was not disturbed by the attacks on her by people badociated with the president of the GBA.

Kuukuwa Andam revealed on Facebook that she had initiated criminal proceedings against the famous lawyer in Washington DC, United States.

According to the lady, the alleged rape would have occurred in the United States in December 2012 and, to substantiate her complaint, she joined what she called the details of the hotel in which she was allegedly badaulted, as well as communication between her and the GBA Head on social media.

But in a statement, lawyers acting on behalf of Mr. Forson described the allegations as patently false.

"Mr Forson sincerely and categorically denies having committed such an offense against Miss Kuukuwa Andam, claiming that the allegations are patently false and that it will be justified when the time comes," reads part of the statement.

Mr. Forson was elected president of the Ghana Bar Association last September in Koforidua.

But in an exclusive interview with GHONE TV, Kuukuwa Andam said that she defends her claims and will pursue the case until she gets justice.

"It's been several years since the incident and it's very difficult to prosecute the rape, I know because I'm a lawyer, I've been on both sides with rape, so I understand all those who say that I must present all the evidence.

"I'm not offended by the people who personally love him, see him as their mentor and want to hear his voice, that's fine with me." I have no choice but to try to ensure that justice is done through the criminal justice system, even though it took so long and, hopefully, maybe that could do me justice and make sure that he does not do it anymore with another woman because he has not taken the responsibility for that.
