Ole Gunnar Solskjaer deserves a lot of praise for helping “transform” the fortunes of defensive duo Eric Bailly and Luke Shaw, according to Ian Wright.
The Manchester United manager saw his side come out of poor form early in the season and is now in the middle of a title race.
Men’s management has long been a strength of the Norwegian, who took over from Jose Mourinho in December 2018.
Shaw and Bailly were vying for opportunities under the Portuguese manager, with the former being publicly criticized.
Solskjaer, however, made the pair part of his full-backs last month and reaped the rewards.

United have conceded just two in their last five league games, with the momentum continuing after their win over Fulham.
Wright told Optus Sport: “What is happening is that the best players are showing courage now. [Paul] Pogba doesn’t need too much space and time to score this goal, Bruno Fernandes can come to life in a few minutes and win this goal.
“I think you have to look at their defense, their defense is very strong now.
“Luke Shaw has to get a flower shape, just because of how he’s transformed with everything that’s happened to him, from 2015 when he had the double fracture and struggled with his fitness. Mourinho didn’t help him at that time.

“What we have seen with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, for whom he must get the maximum respect, is his human management of this team.
“The way this team is playing, Luke Shaw and his re-emergence to be a top player and he’s probably getting into the conversation for England now.
“I love Eric Bailly’s transformation and then you can leave them to the guys up front, [Edinson] Cavani in there.
“It’s starting to look like a Man United side who – if they can start much faster in games that don’t seem to bother them anyway because they’re coming back – they’re going to be a part of it, without a shadow of a ‘a doubt. “
