Assuming there are people who are at the intersection of Bitcoin and Game of Thrones enthusiasm, which of the major Westeros houses would be BTC and which one or which Bitcoin Cash would be (BCH ) / Bitcoin SV (BSV)?
Is Daenerys the Bitcoin of GoT?
On Sunday (April 15, 2019), HBO's popular Game of Thrones (GoT) television show returned to screens around the world. Here on Bitcoinist, we would like to see if there is a parallel between the fantastic mastodon of George R. Martin R. and the creation of Satoshi Nakamoto.
Bitcoin has emerged from relative obscurity to become one of the main topics of discussion in the fields of computer science, finance and politics – to name a few.
Fans of the show could say that "the trip looks a lot like that of Daenerys Targaryen." The dragon queen was born on Dragonstone in the midst of a storm (financial crisis of 2008), forced to live hidden for the most part of her life, but now arguably the most powerful person in the seven kingdoms .
In the fifth season of the series, Tyrion Lannister captured Daenery's bow with obvious similarities to Bitcoin's progress, stating:
When I was a young man, I heard about a baby born during the worst storm of all time. She had no wealth, no land, no army, only a name and a handful of supporters, most of whom thought that they could use that name to profit from it.
Tyrion's soliloquy continues with the following lines:
And a few years later, the most knowledgeable person I knew told me that this girl without fortune, without land and without armies had somehow acquired the three in a very short time, with three dragons. He thought that she was our best and last chance to build a better world.
Sound familiar.
What about the usurper and others?
If the Targaryen dynasty is Bitcoin, then who would be the best candidate for the usurper Robert Baratheon? The person who claims to be the "legitimate" king of Westeros – BCH, BSV or both? The pretenders to the throne, destined to end up extinguishing it.
And what about those who also support these suitors? Bitmain suffered huge losses in 2018 by joining banners with BCH. The BSV miners are not yet in the green, five months after the tough "Bitcoin forks war".
Craig Wright and Calvin Ayre are on the warpath with those who dispute his claim to the Bitcoin cryptographic throne. This is very similar to Cersei Lannister and the late King Joffrey Baratheon who killed all of Robert's illegitimate children.
Is winter coming for Altcoins?
Tamed parsimoniously during most of the series, the Whitewalkers and their army of irons thirsting for death and destruction seem to be the main focus of this season. Just as Game of Thrones has a great impending war, many experts say that one day of calculation will count for altcoins.
Commentators such as Matt Hougan of Bitwise Asset Management, Barry Silbert of Digital Currency Group and Wences Casares of Xapo all say that many altcoins will not survive the mbadive extinction of cryptocurrency.
This premonition raises an interesting question: who are the Whitewalkers of the realm of cryptocurrency? Answer: regulation.
Now, where is my dragon glbad (full Bitcoin knot)?
Are there any other parallels that you can draw between GoT and the cryptocurrency space? Please share your examples with us in the comments below.
