Ilana Omo Oodua on Monday insisted that Yoruba freedom fighter Chief Sunday Adeyemo affectionately known as Sunday Igboho is not being investigated over immigration to the Republic of Benin.
Taking stock of the Igboho case before a Cotonou court, Ilana Omo Oodua’s communications director, Maxwell Adeleye, revealed that security agents in the Republic of Benin removed the activist’s leg chain and handcuffs. yoruba.
Adeleye said: “We are happy to inform all Yoruba and sympathizers that security officers in the Republic of Benin have removed the leg chain and handcuffs from Chief Ighoho since Saturday evening.
“Chief Ighoho’s wife has now been allowed to meet her husband three times a day.
“Medical staff provided by our legal team examined Chief Sunday Adeyemo.
“We reiterate that Chief Ighoho is not subject to any investigation related to immigration to the Republic of Benin.
“Chief Adeyemo will appear in court this morning in the Republic of Benin to face extradition charges that may be brought against him by the Nigerian government.
“We urge the Nigerian supporters not to worry about coming to the court premises in Benin.
Please stay in Nigeria and support with prayers and whatever else you can do within the law. We are confident that Chief Igboho will be released.
