The Ministry of Aviation said it was not considering any recommendations, nor was the Government of Ghana planning to authorize the privatization or sale of the international airport. Kotoka (KIA).

He promised to protect the badets of all institutions under his jurisdiction, including the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), while strengthening their value for the improvement of the aviation sector.

These were contained in a statement from the Ministry's Public Affairs Unit, with a copy to the Ghana Press Agency in Accra.

The Ministry of Aviation reacted to the leakage of the management plan to improve the performance and international competitiveness of the institution misinterpreted by part of the public.

"The ministry is keen to point out that industry best management practices will be at the center of all its decisions and actions, at all times," he added.

He clarified that the Cabinet had not been asked and that the Ministry of Aviation had not submitted a Cabinet memorandum recommending the privatization approval or the sale of the Kotoka International Airport.

According to the statement, the ministry was considering a partnership offer with GACL to provide management services to manage the financial and operational functions necessary for the development of GACL.

He added that the sector's minister had not yet received appropriate advice on the best options available in response to the bid submitted, after which the Cabinet might be asked to approve a recommended option, if any .

"Broader consultation with key stakeholders in the sector will be part of internal considerations in due course if an appropriate option is agreed upon," he hinted.

The general public is urged not to consider news of the privatization or sale of KIA.
