The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has denied allegations that John Dramani Mahama and Samuel Ofosu Ampofo are complicit in the Takoradi kidnapping plot.

At a press conference in Accra on Sunday, the Fixing The Country movement noted that the incident of the kidnapping of Takoradi and several others took place at the back of the NDC national president’s tape where he allegedly heard a plot aimed at making the country ungovernable for the nuclear power plant.

“Isn’t it interesting that these events occur in a manner similar to the guidelines contained in the Ofosu Ampofo tape? The Fixing The Country movement is not unaware of the political machinations of the NDC and how desperately it seeks to plunge this country into chaos.

“It is quite clear that this is the work of those who desperately seek power and who will and employ any right or wrong tactic to achieve their selfish ambition. Having created the impression that Mahama and Ofosu Ampofo could be behind Takoradi’s kidnapping, he further urged security agencies to widen their net in ongoing investigations.

Reacting to the allegations in a statement today, the NDC says that not only are Owusu Bempah’s claims unfounded, but also wicked, malicious and contemptuous.

“Neither the highly respected former President, HE John Dramani Mahama, nor his esteemed National President, the Hon. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, have no part in the events of the western region, nor are they linked in any way to any of the characters in this saga of alleged kidnappings, ”is part of the signed NDC statement by the Director of Communications, Kakra Essamuah. , said.

He adds: “The NDC leadership has much more noble purposes to get its attention, and it is a sad reflection of the quality of our democracy that government agents find time to vilify innocent people just to make this desperate administration looks great in the public eye.

The NDC argues that this is simply a tactic to distract from pressure on the government due to its mismanagement of security concerns in the country.
