Former President of Kumasi Asante Kotoko and current President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union, Herbert Amponsah Mensah says the country’s First and Second Families have set a great example as leaders for publicly taking the first COVID-19 vaccine in the face of the many conspiracy theories.
According to him, their action is an assurance to all that “vaccines are safe and from the World Health Organization [WHO] Standard”.
Herbert Mensah, who dealt with COVID issues, said doubts about the vaccine and the conspiracy theorists that it was created to wipe out the African race are only the figment of people’s imagination.
“My great king, Otumfuo Osei Tutu is going to receive the vaccine and you should know that he is our spiritual leader and that we cannot have anything, that whatever is possible happens to him,” he said.
For him, this testifies to the fact that COVAX vaccines really meet international standards.
Ghana was the first country to receive vaccines as part of the global COVAX program to provide vaccines to nations to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prior to receiving 600,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, Ghana, like other countries, faced rumors and skepticism about vaccines, mainly driven by mistrust of individuals.
