The Ashanti regional police urged Ghanaians to disregard a video broadcast on social media in which a leader allegedly slaughtered a human being to sacrifice him.
The leader of Hemang, Nana Appau Ababio Sanwansa in the video could be seen shooting down what appeared to be an animal on the forecourt of his palace.
People gathered to see the sacrifice, including police personnel.
In the video, one could hear a voice claiming that the leader was slaughtering a human being to pacify the gods of the city.
After badyzing the video, the police concluded that it was rather a ram that was killed and not a human being. They therefore urged the public to disregard the video.
