Police sergeant Bawa Abdul Jalil's lawyer again goes to court to sue Ghana's Inspector General of Police, David Asante Apeatu.
Charles Aseidu and Nana Ato Dadzie dragged the IGP to court for contempt of court.
This decision follows IGP's non-compliance with a favorable court decision by Sergeant Bawa Abdul Jalil, who was wrongfully banned for nine years.
The Tema High Court eventually granted the plaintiff's request and asked the Ghanaian police to immediately reinstate Seargent Bawa and pay him the full amount of his nine-year frozen salary.
When contacted, Sergeant Bawa Abdul Jalil lamented: "After internal disciplinary proceedings that resulted in my acquittal, the police ignored the findings and a new directive from the Police Department's Prosecution and Prosecution Service. to reinstate myself and pay me all the expenses. " my rights have also been denied. "
"It was at this stage that I went to court and fought for six years and four months with the police department. On April 10, 2018, the High Court finally decided that I should be reinstated to the next rank, one of my colleagues, pays all my wages and my arrears with the interest rates in force at the Bank of Ghana. "
Seargent Bawa further stated: "It took six months for the police and state administration to have the IGP threatened with contempt of Parliament before I was reinstated in October 2018 and, until now, the casual approach of the police administration to release me completely frustrating. "
"In this regard, I think we have no choice but to return to court for contempt and Ghanazee to the police account, all proceedings having been followed."
"The certificate of judgment was filed and served on the Attorney General and the police department after the judgment. In my honest opinion, the police administration deliberately annoys me and that is why my lawyers are moving towards the courtyard."
