The acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), James Oppong-Boanuh, visited the family of the policewoman murdered in Tamale.

IGP and his team visited the family to offer their condolences.

Addressing the family, the IGP said the police department considered the murder case a very serious incident and would spare no effort to bring the perpetrators to the pound.

"We will do everything in our power to attack the perpetrators of this intimidating act and I am very confident that we will get it," he said.

He had previously visited the scene of the murder.

The crime scene, located in Malahegu in Kumbungu District.

The Ghana Police Headquarters (GPS) in Accra yesterday sent a team of officers from the Criminal Investigation, Intelligence and National Operations departments to Tamale to help the local police investigate the murder of that officer.

The officer, Agartha Nana Nabin, was shot dead at a police checkpoint on the Kumbungu road in Tamale on Tuesday evening, July 30, 2019.

The alleged thieves managed to escape with both weapons.
