Inspection

The visit of the IGP was to enable it to access security conditions in the newly created Northeast region, and to inspect some land provided by the chiefs for the construction of police stations. .

Accompanied by the Director General of Operations (COP), Mr. George Alex Mensah, North Regional Police Commander (COP), Mr. Timothy Yoosah Bonga, and other senior officers, the IGP has First inspected a structure in Kpasinkpe, in the municipality of West Mamprusi. provided by the regional chief for a police station following the frequency of armed robberies in the area.

They then inspected a 10-hectare plot of land in Nalerigu, the regional capital responsible for building the regional police headquarters.

They pledged their full support for the service and called for more staff to be deployed to the new region.

While commending the traditional leaders for providing the structures and grounds for the construction of police stations, Mr. Asante-Appeatu appealed to the inhabitants of the region to act as guardians of the community and denounce all criminal activities to the police.

"Maintaining order is not the duty of Ghana's only police service, we have energetic men in different communities, so I call them all so that they serve as militiamen and help us fight crimes in their respective communities, "he urged.
