I’m a celebrity … Get me out of here! viewers went wild over a “dangerous” and “cruel” challenge during Thursday night’s episode.
Jack Vidgen, Grant Denyer, Pettifleur Berenger and Travis Varcoe had to pump a lever at the bottom of a tank filled with ice water, in order to earn points for their teams.
After the challenge saw the stars wrapped in emergency blankets to avoid hypothermia, and Jack admitting he thought he would “ die, ” fans of the show accused the producers of go too far on social media.

“It was such a dangerous challenge! Who thought of that? All this pain for seven stars ?? an angry viewer posted on Twitter.
“Let’s not do this challenge next year, eh?” It was dangerous and almost cruel, ”said another.
“ This challenge was absolutely not correct, ” one shared, along with another who wrote: “ You actually went too far with this challenge, and the fact that the animators thought it was funny only made it worse. Bad form for everyone except the competitors.

The challenge was not long in coming when the quartet began to shake uncontrollably and scream in pain.
‘It hurts. It’s hard to breathe, Grant cried, as his whole complexion turned red with cold.
Travis also gasped as he screamed “oh my god”, while Pettifleur shivered and moaned in pain.

Jack appeared to be most affected by the agonizing ordeal, with medical staff seen comforting the pop star after the challenge.
Wrapped in a space blanket to keep him from hypothermia, a shaking Jack revealed he was in so much pain.
“ Coming out of the water afterwards, I literally thought I was dying, ” he later said in a room in front of the camera.

It comes after Toni Pearen was left sobbing after being repeatedly bitten in the face by snakes during Tuesday night’s episode.
The former Australian funniest home video host, 48, tucked her head inside the box as several jungle carpet pythons crept around her.
She was bitten in the face five times, then sobbing that she wanted to go home and see her children.

Fans were furious at the situation, with numerous social media posts insisting that the show should have canceled the challenge.
One person watching tweeted: ‘How the hell did they let this continue? Blooming disgusting! ‘
