Assin Central (MP) MP Kennedy Agyapong shot down media reports suggesting he was interested in being the chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to him, he is still an MP and that means that he cannot even become party president because he is not ready to give up his post as legislator.
“A lot of people call me and what they say is they heard that Kennedy Agyapong wants to be the national president of the nuclear power plant. Why did they forget that I am an MP? What I mean is that is not the truth, I am not going to fight for the presidency of the party and I have not had any discussion with anyone about it but it is everywhere
He continued in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com “It is on social networks that Kennedy Agyapong for the president of the NPP meanwhile, I have just been elected deputy. If I was interested in being the national president, I would have quit the MP race, which means that is not true ”.
The maverick lawmaker took the opportunity to call on NPP supporters to back the current party chairman to ensure he runs the party’s business smoothly.
