Rebecca Nana Adwoa Kwabi was crowned Miss Ghana 2o19
After being called names and guided by Ghanaians for her look, Miss Ghana 2019, Rebecca Nana Adwoa Kwabi dropped suggestions, she's ugly.
The Queen and her other finalists were the subject of intense criticism after being photographed in a television interview broadcast on social media.
The ignoble comments about their appearance, many calling them "ugly", have put them on social media for more than 24 hours. According to these trolls, the standards of rewards have fallen and Queens can not represent Ghana as queens of beauty.
"Am I ugly? I'm not ugly, my mirror does not tell me I'm ugly. I'm not ugly, "Rebecca Nana Adwoa Kwabi reacted in a conversation with MzGee's Joy News.
She added, "Anything that has a future, people are opposed to it, so I'm cool. I'm just watching what they [Ghanaians] doing. "
Rebecca, along with her finalists and Mr. Ghana 2019, hailed the launch and announcement of the nominees of the 5th Golden Movie Awards.
"People called to advise me but I told them I was cool. same [President] Akufo-Addo, they insulted him, Jesus Christ, the ultimate person, he was insulted, so how much more me, I am only a person, "she said.
Explaining what may have happened on the day the photo was taken during the interview on CitiTV, first runner-up, Sarah Odei Amoani attributed it to "a bad day".
"We had a lot of things the night before. Every girl has a bad day of hair, a bad day of make-up, a big day of dress so it happens, "she added.
Sarah said, appearances are misleading, therefore, people should make an effort to look beyond appearances.
"Beauty comes in a different form."
"Ghanaians are known for that," said Deborah Opoku Sarfo, the second finalist.
