President Akufo-Addo says that he is a loyal leader who heads the government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in order to quickly realize all campaign promises aimed at improving the lives of the people.

He said confidently that he had virtually fulfilled all the promises made by the NPP to the people before the 2016 general election, noting that all areas of the state had improved under his leadership until now.

"My nuclear power plant government is committed to the progress and prosperity of our homeland, Ghana, as we have implemented a series of policies and infrastructure projects aimed at improving the standard of living of the people" , did he declare.

The President revealed this information during the grbad cutting ceremony for the start of work of the second phase of the redevelopment and modernization of the Kumasi Central Market and the infrastructure projects badociated with Kumasi yesterday.

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, prominent Asanteman traditional leaders, ministers of state, deputies, traders and people from all walks of life participated in the program.

The president said the infrastructure development had become the hallmark of his administration, saying he would ensure that all promises contained in the manifesto of the nuclear power plant are honored quickly.

He listed several infrastructure projects that his administration had done across the country to reinforce his argument.

Central Market Project

The president said the second phase of the Kumasi Central Market Redevelopment Project would cost 248 million euros, confirming that the project funding had been secured by the government.

He added that the project is expected to be completed in 48 months by Contracta Construction UK Limited and stated that it would improve the standard of living of the inhabitants once the work is completed.

Once completed, the project would include 10,000 stores, including 6,500 rental units and 5,400 closed stores, restaurants, police station, post office and fire station, among others, to stimulate business.

The good works of Nana

The president said the launch of the second phase of the Kumasi Central Market Redevelopment Project demonstrated his commitment to the country's total transformation.

The President stated that several road projects in Kumasi had been contracted out, including the redevelopment of roundabouts on the Kumasi-Ejisu road.

He also said the government had secured 155 million euros to complete the installation of the Mother and Baby Unit (MBU), which had previously become a white elephant at the University Hospital. Komfo Anokye (KATH).

He said the Sino-Hydro barter agreement would bring mbadive infrastructure development to the country, particularly in the roads sector, adding that he had already begun with the construction of the interchange in the regional capital of the north, Tamale.

In her address, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II congratulated President Akufo-Addo and his government for their commitment to carry out the second phase of the Kumasi Central Market Redevelopment Project.

Otumfuo, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, said categorically that the Central Market Redevelopment Project would go a long way in improving business and creating wealth for the people.

He instructed the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to ensure that traders expelled from Kejetia before the start of the first phase of the project are returned to their stores to ensure peace.

Asantehene also said that traders who would be affected by the second phase of the project should also be relocated properly in the newly built Kejetia in order to pave the way for the project.

Otumfuo has strongly warned that he will not tolerate any attempt to replace eligible traders by different people when awarding stores to Kejetia, saying that it was necessary to act properly.

"I will not allow anyone to engage in any illegality that could harm the image of myself and the president," said Asantehene, calling for support for the second phase of the central market project.
