Nottinghamshire recruited Imad Wasim, the Pakistani all-rounder, while Mark Footitt, left-handed pacemaker, left the club.
Wasim, 30, joined the rest of the county's T20 Blast campaign and joins his team directly for Friday's game in Derbyshire.
The left-arm spinner is ranked fourth all-rounder in international international games and averages 42.72 points with the bat in 52 ODI matches.
Footitt, 33, leaves two years after his second stint at Trent Bridge.
He took 352 first-clbad wickets, but has only played four league games since he joined Notts from Surrey.
Footitt was called into the English team at the 2015 Ashes series and went on tour in South Africa that winter without earning a test cap.
He had borrowed from Lancashire early in the 2019 season.
"Mark has been a wholehearted professional since returning to the club," said Mick Newell, director of cricket in Nottinghamshire, on the club's website.
"He's driven away from the field and has imposed himself as one of the most experienced cricket professionals in the second team."
Mark Footitt also spent six years with Derbyshire during his career.
