Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, head of the National Imam, said the visit to the Christ the King Catholic Church on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019, was a symbolic gesture of friendship to consolidate the existing interreligious peace in Ghana.

There were doubts with some expressing discomfort over worship perceived by the principal imam in a church, since Easter was one of the Christian beliefs unrecognized in Islam.

Addressing Citi News, spokesman for Chief Imam Sheikh Aremeyaw Shuaib said his boss was not at the church to celebrate or celebrate Easter.

He said that it would be wrong to say that the imam chief "went to worship in the church."

"As an icon of interfaith dialogue, interfaith harmony and interdenominational friendship, he has decided to reach out to a church. It is a symbolic gesture to send a strong message in favor of the possibility for Muslims and Christians to live in peace on the basis of mutual respect, mutual cooperation and mutual solidarity ", he noted.

The Chief Imam's visit to Christ the King Catholic Church was also ahead of his 100th anniversary celebration today, Tuesday, April 23, 2019.

Imam National Chief Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, on Sunday morning, knocked out worshipers at Christ the King Catholic Church in Accra, where he stormed a powerful delegation at the Mbad of the Easter Sunday.

Vice President Mahamadu Bawumia, as part of the 100th anniversary celebrations of the Great National Imam, joined him and several others at the National Mosque to thank Allah for his special grace.

The thanksgiving prayer was to thank Almighty Allah for the blessings that he had bestowed on the national leader Imam.
