Chan Chun Sing, Minister of Trade and Industry, replied to the European Parliament on 8 July 2019 to the supplementary questions put by MP Saktiandi Supaat on the potential impact of the export control measures proposed by the Member States. US on 14 categories of technologies, as well as on EDB strategies to take advantage of supply chains.
Minister Chan stressed that Singapore's strategy is to be able to operate in different systems and jurisdictions and to properly manage the sensitivities of different countries. He also explained that Singapore did not compete with regional economies for the global supply chains as countries had strengths in different sectors.
