Pep Guardiola is expected to launch Aro Muric, the rookie goalkeeper, in the final scrum of the Carabao Cup.
Muric, a 20-year-old Kosovar international born in Switzerland, has played every round, while defending the trophy won by Manchester City last year led them to a clash between Wembley and Chelsea.
Now, the 6-foot-6 inch plug is ready to be asked to stop Eden Hazard and Co, in front of top Brazilian star Ederson.
Muric insists that he is ready. He said, "It's great for me to take this step.
"I'm still young and this competition helped me a lot in terms of confidence.
"It's a very good experience for me and I appreciate that the manager gives me this chance.
"Pep Guardiola and goalkeeper coach (Xabier Mancisidor) believe in me – and that's huge.
"I was a club fan at age 15 when I had the chance to come as a trialist, so being part of the first team makes me very happy – that's something I'm I am very proud of it. "
Guardiola chose to play Claudio Bravo in the final of last year – and the Chilean did not have a problem while City beat Arsenal 3-0.
Muric had his great luck when Bravo suffered a cruciate ligament injury that marginalized him for the season.
He was reminded of a loan from the Dutch club Breda – and was the hero of City in the penalty shoot-out win at Leicester in the quarter-finals.
Muric added: "It has not completely sunk yet. I can not say anything else that it's amazing and a dream come true to represent Manchester City.
"It's difficult, but unbelievable, to play under the orders of a world-renowned coach like Pep. I try to learn from him all the time. Of course, it takes time to learn, but it's amazing to work with him. "
