Marry inanimate objects seems to be a growing trend now. The latest example is of an Indonesian who caused a stir on social media after marrying his rice cooker.

Khoirul Anam from Magelang, Java, took to Facebook to announce his wedding, posting photos of the bizarre wedding ceremony. In the mail, as Anam was seen in traditional white wedding attire, her electric “bride” was dressed in a white veil for signing documents.

In a series of images shared by the man from his unique marriage, the couple were seen sitting together for the ceremony as they took the sacred oath. He’s even been pictured sealing the union with a kiss!

Anam even cited the qualities of his “wife” in the caption of the photo: “fair, calm, obedient, speaks little, knows how to cook”.

If this marriage wasn’t crazy enough, the latest update on this couple surely is. Anam, who is known for making eccentric social media antics, has informed his followers that he divorced his new wife, the rice cook, just after four days!

Saying it was a “heavy” decision on his part, he admitted that there was no perfect partner for him. Breaking the news, he wrote: “My decision is round … heavy indeed … but that’s how I take … no perfect partner …”

Even though this shot was fired in the name of entertainment, it still managed to grab the attention of all internet users. Many remained divided as to what might be the next item to fill the role of his wife.

One user quipped, “If it was serious, he would have married a Tiger or Zojirushi rice cooker. But a Philips rice cooker? You don’t espouse that. It’s just for quick sushi calls. While another user joked, “Not everyone can handle the pressure of married life”.
