A British woman who disappeared while hiking in Guatemala was found dead Monday in the mountains, injured in the head.
Citing the National Institute of Forensic Sciences of Guatemala, the BBC reported that Catherine Shaw, 23, was found naked, face down and with visible injuries to the body. The institute said Shaw's body was found four to six days after his death.
Shaw was reported missing on March 5th. The Lucie Blackman Trust, an organization that provides badistance to British nationals in crisis abroad, told the TV channel that it was unlikely that her death was a criminal act.

An autopsy report obtained by Sky News stated that Shaw had died from a hemorrhage following a traumatic brain injury. A doctor who examined the 23-year-old woman said that her body was showing signs of trauma but had no gunshot or stab wounds.
Shaw was last seen on the shores of Lake Atitlan in San Juan La Laguna after walking a puppy. The puppy was found alive Friday at the top of Indian Nose, a volcano facing the lake, according to Sky News.
Shaw's body was found in El Naudiz, San Juan La Laguna, about three kilometers from where it was last seen. The mirror reported that Shaw's jacket was found shortly before his body was found.
The BBC reported that further tests are underway to uncover additional details about Shaw's death.
