Veteran actor and playwright Girish Karnad died Monday (June 10th) in Bangalore. The 81-year-old actor, treated for an extended illness, has died as a result of organ failure.
The Jnanpith Awardee was a popular name in the film circle as well as in the theater circle.
He made his debut in a Kannada Samskara film in 1970. He also works in Hindi films such as Manthan (1976), Pukar (2000), Iqbal (2005), Dor (2006), Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Tiger Zinda Hai. (2017).
Girish Karnad, who was a famous playwright, had mainly performed in South Indian films in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. He was primarily chosen to play negative characters in most of his films and played it with a lot of aplomb.
