An Indian sailor and 17 others were arrested by the Nigerian navy for an attempt to illegally export crude oil stolen to Ghana, according to a report.

The suspects and the vessels were handed over to the police at the Port Harcourt naval base, Nigeria's oil hub, to allow further investigation of the suspects, Navy Navy Pathfinder Captain Adegoke Ebo said. reported the Xinhua news agency.

According to him, the suspects were about to transport crude oil to Ghana before being stopped by naval forces.

One of the suspects, a Nigerian, was actively involved in supplying crude oil from Nigerian creeks and shipping it to the Platon Gas Oil refinery in Tema, Ghana, without authorization or authorization, said the military officer at the news agency.

One of the suspects revealed the names of his accomplices and facilitators, as well as evidence and evidence to support the illicit trade, the report said.
