IndiGo’s board on Sunday announced the appointment of board member Gregg Saretsky as special advisor with immediate effect.
In this role, he will work closely with Rono Dutta, IndiGo’s management team and Rahul Bhatia to accelerate the airline’s operational and business improvement opportunities, said InterGlobe Aviation, IndiGo’s parent company. , in a regulatory file.
Saretsky brings extensive experience in commercial aviation, including, most recently, as CEO of WestJet, Canada’s most successful low-cost carrier, he said.
“Gregg’s understanding of the low cost carrier model will serve us well as we work together to drive the change that will take IndiGo to the next level and recover from the ill effects of the pandemic,” the dossier said.
IndiGo had appointed Saretsky as an additional director in October 2020.
He retired as President and CEO of Canadian airline WestJet in 2018.
