Tottenham confirmed that Dele Alli would be out until March due to a hamstring injury sustained during his weekend win at Fulham.

The English international tied at Craven Cottage before being eliminated in the 86th minute of Sunday's 2-1 win.

The exams have since confirmed that he was suffering from hamstrings and that he would probably not resume training before six weeks.

A statement from Tottenham reads as follows: "After examinations and a clinical evaluation, we can confirm that Dele Alli suffered a strain on the hamstring, suffered during Sunday's match.

"Dele will now undergo a re-education period with our medical staff, hoping to resume training in early March."

In response to the injury on Twitter, Alli m said: "Vide. I will do everything in my power to return as soon as possible. Thank you for all messages. "

The former MK Dons midfielder will miss at least eight matches in four competitions over the next six weeks.

The 22-year-old will miss the Carabao Cup final on Feb. 24 if Tottenham beat Chelsea in the semi-final first leg at Stamford Bridge on Thursday.

He will also miss the 16 February first leg between Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund on 16 February. There will also be a fourth round of the FA Cup at Crystal Palace and up to five Premier League matches that alli could miss.

Given that he should resume training only in early March, Alli will also have to fight to be in shape for the North London derby against Arsenal on March 2 and the return leg against Dortmund three days later.

The news is a new blow for the manager, Mauricio Pochettino. The English captain, Harry Kane, was also sidelined until March because of an ankle injury against Manchester United earlier this month.

Lucas Moura is also waiting for a knee problem while Heung-min Son is missing with South Korea at the Asian Cup, leaving Pochettino running out of options.

The club also allowed Mousa Dembele to leave for Chinese club Guangzhou R & F last week.

Tottenham has not yet recruited first-team this season and it remains to be seen whether the club will now feel compelled to enter the market to ease its growing injury crisis.
