PAn innovative brain surgery allowing deaf children to experience for the first time the sensation of hearing needs to be funded throughout the NHS.

Teams of specialists will provide radical surgery for children under five who are unable to use hearing aids or conventional implants because their inner ear or auditory nerve has not developed properly.
